Now that you got the hard part out of the way, you may want to read our tutorial on using Windows Live Writer.
Troubleshooting: for Advanced Users
In order for all of this to work the following Modules need to be enabled on the website
- Blog API MUST BE UNENABLED AND IF IT WAS ENABLED HAS TO BE UNENABLED THEN UNINSTALLED
- WLW Blog API
- Upload (for image uploading)
You also have to select the content types people can edit in Windows Live Writer
- Go to Site Configuration > By Module
- Under Blog API Click on Blog API
- Enable at least 'Page' for External Blogging Clients, probably set File Size upload to about 5 Megs or so.
You may have to set Authenticated User Permissions to full on BlogAPI but i'm not completely sure if it's necessary yet. I'm also guessing that the theme will download if Authenticated user is given full permission to Blog API.
